Creating a Group/Folder

Creating a group is equivalent to creating a folder in the tree structure.  The Organization drop down menu is used to create a folder.

The reasons for creating folders/groups in ATLAS Cloud are:

  • Efficient and simple management of users for the Administrator
  • To group large numbers of users
  • To group users with a common purpose e.g. achieving same qualification, same area of business etc
  • To utilise the automatic assignment inheritance for a group. For more information refer to the Assigning Tests and Limits section.

To create a folder in ATLAS Cloud, use the following steps:

  1. Highlight the folder/group in the tree structure where you would like to create a new folder
  2. Click on the Organization drop down at the top of the screen
  3. Click Create followed by Add group
  4. Fill out the Group name and Description for the group/folder
  5. Click the Save changes button located at the bottom of the screen

The folder will now appear in the left hand side tree structure.

Moving Users between Folders

There are two ways of moving Candidates between folders.  One is to drag and drop the user between folders and the other is to cut and paste.

Drag and Drop

To drag and drop the user between folders:

  1. Highlight the Candidate in the tree structure (in the left hand pane)
  2. Click, and then continue to hold down the mouse clicker as you drag the Candidate to the destination folder, at which point let go of the mouse clicker
  3. Please note that a tick will appear over the folder that the user is moving to when it has been located correctly. At this point a prompt will appear saying Really move this user/group? 
  4. Click the OK button to continue

The user will now appear in the destination folder. 

Cut and Paste

To cut and paste a user to move them to another folder:

  1. Highlight the Candidate in the tree structure (in the left hand pane)
  2. Click the cut icon (found just above the tree structure)
  3. Highlight the folder that the Candidate should be moved to in the tree structure
  4. Click the paste icon (found just above the tree structure)
  5. At this point a prompt will appear saying Really move this user/group
  6. Click the OK button to continue

The user will now appear in the destination folder.
